Vyconic™ soybeans

Vyconic™ is Bayer’s soybean trait platform developed with tolerance to five herbicides. It gives growers more weed-management options to evaluate. The variety, the approved herbicide program, and the market for your grain still need to fit your farm.

Bayer introduces Vyconic soybeans

Five tolerances. Four herbicide groups.

Vyconic is developed with tolerance to glyphosate, glufosinate, dicamba, 2,4-D, and mesotrione. These represent four herbicide sites of action because dicamba and 2,4-D share the same group. More tolerances give you choices to evaluate; they do not mean that every option will control the weeds in your field.

Bayer: Vyconic product information

Start with the variety and the field.

We’ll ask about the weeds that escaped, your crop rotation, and how applications fit your schedule. Then we’ll work through variety maturity, soil and drainage fit, disease history, and harvest timing. A new trait platform does not make those questions less important.

Tolerance and approved use are different.

Use only herbicide formulations specifically labeled for the crop and approved in the state of application. A tolerance trait does not establish an approved application, rate, timing, or tank mix. Before building the program, review current labels and Bayer guidance with your applicator. Follow rotational restrictions on the products used in previous crops as well.

Confirm where the grain can go.

Before ordering, contact the elevator or processor where you intend to deliver. Ask whether that specific facility will accept Vyconic grain from the 2028 crop and whether any delivery, storage, or handling conditions apply. Ask for written confirmation. Seed availability and grain-buyer acceptance are separate parts of the decision.

Bayer: product guidance and grain-handler confirmation

Build the plan around confirmed options.

Bayer’s July 2026 update identifies 2027 as the start of North American introduction. Our planning with growers is for the 2028 planting season. We’ll confirm the Channel varieties offered locally and discuss how they fit alongside your other soybean acres. A launch announcement alone does not establish supply for a particular variety or farm.

Bayer: technology and introduction timing

Three things to settle before ordering.

  • Seed: the available Channel variety, maturity, quantity, and any launch requirements.
  • Management: the weeds you need to control and the currently labeled program your applicator can use.
  • Delivery: written acceptance and any handling conditions from the specific grain buyer you plan to use.

Questions worth asking.

AWill ISG carry Vyconic for 2028?

We’re planning to offer Channel Vyconic soybeans for 2028. Contact our team to confirm the local lineup, supply, and requirements for the varieties you are considering.Talk with your ISG contact

BWhich local elevators will accept Vyconic grain?

We do not yet have a confirmed list of local facilities accepting Vyconic grain for 2028. Ask your intended buyer directly and confirm the crop year and any conditions in writing. Our team can discuss the questions to ask, but the buyer must confirm its own acceptance policy.

CDoes five-herbicide tolerance mean I can spray all five?

No. Only specific labeled uses approved in your state are permitted. Not every formulation is being pursued for use with Vyconic. The available seed and the approved herbicide options must each be confirmed using current information.

DShould I move all my soybean acres to Vyconic?

Start with the field and the available variety. Consider agronomic fit, the weed-management program, cost, and grain acceptance before deciding how many acres belong in the plan. We can discuss one field without assuming a whole-farm switch.
